Danny Sufranski

Football:  Defensive Lineman

Washington University in St. Louis

Sophomore

St. Francis High School

Graduated in 2008

Danny Sufranski began training at ESP in January of 2007 based on the recommendation of an assistant coach at St. Francis High School.  “It was a challenging experience, and I got bigger, faster, and stronger,” says Danny.  He also credits ESP with developing his mental toughness and getting him in the shape he needed to be in to start on the offensive and defensive line in his senior year.  He says, “ESP’s personalized instruction and demanding, focused workouts definitely gave me an edge.”

Danny also recognized  the small group sizes at ESP for allowing more focus on technique and the development of a personal relationship with the staff.  “Unlike other sports performance companies, you will not get lost in the crowd at ESP.  They get to know you as people and want you to succeed just as much as you do,” says Danny.

Following his graduation from St. Francis, Danny continued playing football at Washington University in St. Louis.  He caught the coaches’ attention because of his explosiveness and, despite being undersized, worked his way into the regular rotation in the second half of his freshmen season.  Says Danny, “My coaches got more out of me than they were expecting.  Nothing I had to do in college was harder than the workouts at ESP.”

Will Matte

Football:  Center

Indiana University

Red Shirt Freshman

Wheaton Warrenville South High School

Graduated in 2008

Will Matte began training at ESP in the winter of his sophomore year.  Will says the workouts are “well rounded and with a football focus.”  He also says that working out with other athletes dedicated to getting better had a positive impact on his athletic development.  He said, “ Everyone there is focused on getting better.  There is always someone to work out with and push you.”When asked about the staff, Will said they are “Cool and easy to talk to.  There is a lot of interaction and personal attention.”

Will’s hard work clearly paid off.  He was an all-state selection on a Wheaton Warrenville South team that made it to two state championship games and won one.  Will received a scholarship from Indiana University and is currently first on their depth chart going into fall camp of his sophomore year.  On the transition from high school to college, Will said, “I was in better shape than most of my college teammates.  Nothing in college surprised me.  ESP gets you prepared.”

Steve Herbert

Football: Outside Linebacker

St. Ambrose University

Junior

Wheaton Warrenville South High School

Graduated in 2007

Steve Herbert has been training at ESP since his junior year at Wheaton Warrenville South High School in 2006.  Since he began training with ESP, Steve says, “my personal performance in football both on the field and in the weight room has skyrocketed.”  When asked about the workouts at ESP, Steve said, “I feel the ESP training regimen is pretty demanding and it takes a lot of time and dedication, but the end results make every hour, week, month, and year worth it in the end and proves to be extremely beneficial.”  When asked to compare the workouts at ESP to other workouts, he said that nothing else he has done, in high school, college, or other sports performance companies has matched the level of intensity or produced the results of ESP.

Steve also said that training with other athletes of the same caliber forced him to work harder and contributed to his development as a football player.  He also praised the staff for being there to “relight the fire” whenever the workouts are “pushing you to your limits.”  He also said that he is close to all the members of the ESP staff and says, “They are more than just your trainers; they are your friends and family as well. “  Before his freshman year at St. Ambrose University, Steve was forced to undergo ACL reconstruction.  He credits the ESP for staff for getting him into shape following the surgery and making the transition to college as smooth as possible.  After playing two seasons at St. Ambrose, Steve says, “I always look forward to coming home after the season because I know I can go to ESP and get in amazing shape.”

Milton Colbert

Football: Wide Receiver

Michigan State University

Sophomore

Willowbrook High School

Graduated in 2008

Milton began attending ESP the summer before his junior year of high school.  ESP owner Jadae McGuire saw Milton Colbert at a high school basketball game and asked him if he wanted to play for his travel basketball team.  Milton says the ESP workouts, “helped me with my strength and speed for football, and also my endurance and stamina for basketball.”  He also says that nothing in high school workouts could compare to ESP, and credits them especially for giving him an edge in the 4th quarter.

When asked about the staff, Milton said, “My personal relationship with the trainers is unbelievable.  Everyone is so cool to talk to and be around.”  He also spoke highly of the other athletes, saying, “The experience of training with other athletes was exhilarating because we were guys working and striving to reach the same goal of moving to the next level.”

After graduating from Willowbrook High school, Milton walked on at Michigan State University.  On the transition from high school to college, Milton said, “the transition to college after working out with ESP was much easier.  College workouts are just like the ones ESP will put you through.”  Milton impressed the coaching staff at Michigan State in his freshman year and, following an impressive spring, will be looking to make an impact on the field in his sophomore year.

Chuck Porcelli

Football: Offensive Line

Northwestern University

Red Shirt Freshman

Montini High School

Graduated in 2008

Chuck has been training at ESP for three and a half years.  Chuck said he trained at Velocity for a while, but that it was “too commercial and impersonal.”  He says, “At ESP, the trainers care about you and create a great relationship with you.  They’re great friends and very supportive.”   He said that the workouts at ESP made high school two-a-days seems easy.   He said that the workouts are “very demanding and very beneficial,” and that “the athletes you work out with motivate and push you to be your best.”  After his senior year at Montini, Chuck received a full scholarship to Northwestern University.

“Going into college football, I knew I was physically prepared.  The training we did at ESP was the same things we do at Northwestern,” said Chuck.  “We do some of the same drills and work on the same techniques.  I was very prepared for college workouts.”  Chuck will be looking to make an impact both in the offensive line rotation and on special teams in his second season at Northwestern.

Danny Dierking

Football: Running Back

Purdue University

Junior

Wheaton Warrenville South High School

Graduated in 2007

Danny Dierking began training at ESP in the summer before his sophomore year of high school.  He began working out with ESP because he was looking for a more focused and demanding workout. “I came across ESP through referrals from upper classmen who were working out with the ESP staff. So some of the older guys brought me in for a couple of workouts and I have been attending ESP as frequently as possible ever since,” said Danny.  When asked about how ESP workouts affected him as an athlete, he credited the balance between speed and strength training at ESP and said that the balance makes ESP stand out.  “Some of the other places around the Dupage area specialize in speed workouts then have terrible strength programs or vice versa. This is not the case at ESP.  Words cannot describe how the training I have done over at ESP has helped me throughout my career.  There is no doubt in my mind that the countless hours I have spent in ESP have allowed me to play at the D1 level,” said Danny.

Danny also spoke highly of the staff at ESP, saying, “Over the past 5 or 6 years I have become very close with the trainers at ESP and consider them not only great coaches but great friends as well.”  He also said that working out with other serious athletes forced him to continually push himself and maximize his results.  After leading Wheaton Warrenville South to the state championship in his senior year, Danny headed to Purdue on a full scholarship.  He appeared in all 13 games as a freshman and started one game.  He continued to contribute on both offense and special teams in his sophomore year and will be looking to have an even bigger impact this fall.  When asked about the transition from high school to college, Danny said, “The transition to college training from ESP athletics was extremely easy and I personally feel that the ESP workouts demanded more than college workouts.”

Jim Nelson

Football: Linebacker

Drake University

Wheaton Warrenville South High School

Graduated in 2007

Jim Nelson has been attending ESP for 5 years.  In that time, he said, “I have gotten stronger, faster, and more explosive.  I have put on lean muscle and dropped my body fat.”  He also credits football specific drills for giving him an edge on the competition, especially in high school.  “ESP workouts are head and shoulders above high school workouts.  When I was playing in high school, I was in better shape and could outperform my opponents because of the work I put in with ESP.”  Jim also credited the atmosphere at ESP created by the trainers and the other athletes for pushing him to excel.

“I learned many things from Jadae.  He is one of the most influential persons I have ever met because he can relate to things on and off the field.  He was a kid at one time just like us and now is more than happy to give advice to others,” said Jim.  Following his state championship senior season at Wheaton Warrenville South, Jim headed to Drake University to continue his football career.  On the transition, Jim said, “When I came to my first college workout, I passed my conditioning test with flying colors because of the work I had done that summer with ESP.”
